Advertising Data Not Syncing

Experiencing difficulties with data synchronization in Merch Jar, especially after connecting your Amazon Advertising account? This troubleshooting guide is designed to help you swiftly address and resolve common syncing issues, ensuring that your advertising data is seamlessly integrated with Merch Jar's features.

No data syncing could be due to a variety of reasons—whether it's quirks with Amazon's API, you haven't set up an advertising account yet, or there's no advertising data to pull.

If you do have an ad account with campaign data, this is a common issue due to quirks with Amazon's Advertising API. Follow these steps to resolve the issue.

Step 1: Create a Manager Account in Amazon Ad Console

  1. Open your Amazon Ad Console.
  2. Locate the account scher dropdown menu at the top-right corner.
  3. Choose "Create Manager Account."

Step 2: Add All Relevant Accounts to Your New Manager Account

  1. Inside the new Manager Account, find and click on "Add an Account."
  2. Move all your relevant Amazon accounts to the right-hand column to ensure they're managed by your new Manager Account.

Step 3: Invite User to Manager Account

  1. Navigate to the sidebar and select "Administration" in the bottom left corner.
  2. Choose "Account Access and Settings."
  3. Go to the "Users" tab and click "Invite User."
  4. Enter the Amazon ad account's email address linked to your Merch Jar account—the one you used for 'Login with Amazon' on Merch Jar.
  5. Set the permission level to "Admin."

Final Step: Resync with Merch Jar

  1. Go to your Data Connections page in Merch Jar.
  2. Find and click the "Refresh" button.
  3. Your ad account should now appear. Toggle the switch under the "Managed" column for any accounts you wish to sync with Merch Jar. The data for these newly managed accounts will start syncing immediately.
