We primarily use our blog to communicate this type of information, so we expect to keep this type of email to a minimum. If you send us a request (for example via a support email or via one of our feedback mechanisms), we reserve the right to publish it in order to help us clarify or respond to your request or to help us support other users. Those who engage in transactions with Merch Jar – by purchasing Merch Jar’s services or products, are asked to provide additional information, including as necessary the personal and financial information required to process those transactions. Cookies and similar technologies

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies, such as pixels, tags and your browser's local storage. Some are set by us and some by the services described below. They help us run the site, understand how it is used, measure and show our ads, and see which businesses visit.

Analytics

We use PostHog to understand how people use our website and product, for example which pages are viewed and which features are used. PostHog sets cookies and processes your IP address, browser and device details, and the pages you visit on our behalf.

Advertising and retargeting

We use advertising tools from Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and Google to measure our ads and to show Merch Jar ads to people who have visited our website:

• Meta Pixel. Records visits to our pages and actions such as starting a trial, and sends them to Meta along with cookie and device identifiers. We may also send these events to Meta directly from our servers using the Meta Conversions API. If you type your email address into a form on our website, the Meta Pixel may send Meta a hashed version of it so Meta can match the visit to your account.
• Google Ads tag. Records visits and sign-ups from Google Ads using cookies.

Meta and Google use this information to measure our ads and to show you our ads on their services and partner sites. They also handle it under their own policies: the Meta Privacy Policy and the Google Privacy Policy.

Visitor identification

We use RB2B, a service of GetEmails, LLC (also known as Retention.com), to identify some visitors to our website. RB2B uses cookies and similar technologies, your IP address and information it or its data partners already hold to match a visit to a business profile, such as your name, job title, company, business email address and LinkedIn profile. Identification of individual people applies to visitors in the United States. RB2B handles this information under its own privacy policy.

When you visit our website, cookies and similar technologies may be used by our data partners or vendors to associate your visit with other personal information they or others have about you, including your email address. If you are identified, we may add your contact details to our marketing list and contact you by email or LinkedIn about Merch Jar. You can unsubscribe at any time with the link in any email we send.

You can opt out of identification at app.retention.com/optout, or choose Reject under Cookie settings at the bottom of our pages.

Customer list matching

We share hashed email addresses of our customers with Meta and Google. Hashing turns an email address into a fixed code before it leaves our systems. Meta and Google match these codes against their own users so that we can stop showing ads to current customers and show ads to former customers. We do not share any other customer details for this purpose.

To be removed from customer list matching, email [email protected] from the address on your account and we will remove it from the lists we share.

Chat widget

Our website uses Gist for live chat and support. Gist sets cookies to remember your conversation and records the pages you view while the chat is loaded, so we can answer your questions in context. If you send us a message or give us your email address in the chat, Gist stores it with your conversation.

Free tool downloads

Our free tools run in your browser, and the reports you open in them are not uploaded. When you download a file a free tool made for you, we ask once for your email address, whether you run Amazon Ads for your own products or for clients, and how much Amazon Ads spend you manage monthly. We save these in Gist with the name of the tool and, if you came from one of our emails or ads, which message brought you. We use them to learn who uses the tools and may email you about Merch Jar. If you're in the EU, EEA, UK or Switzerland, we only email you about Merch Jar if you tick the box when you download. You can unsubscribe at any time with the link in any email we send, or ask us to delete your details by emailing [email protected]. Your browser's local storage remembers that you signed up, so later downloads don't ask again. Cloudflare Turnstile checks that the form is used by a person and handles that check under the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.

Visitors from the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland

If you visit from the European Union, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we ask before using advertising cookies. Until you choose Accept in the cookie banner, the Meta Pixel does not send data, the Google Ads tag does not use advertising cookies and RB2B does not load. Rejecting is as easy as accepting, and you can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of our pages. We save your choice in your browser's local storage. To decide whether to show the banner, we check which country you are connecting from using our hosting provider, Cloudflare.

How to opt out of ads

Wherever you are, you can:

• Choose Reject under Cookie settings at the bottom of our pages.
• Manage the ads you see from Meta in your Meta ad preferences.
• Manage the ads you see from Google in Google ad settings.
• Opt out of interest-based ads from participating companies at optout.aboutads.info (US) or youronlinechoices.eu (EU and UK).
• Opt out of RB2B visitor identification at app.retention.com/optout.
• Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of our website may not work without them.

– Business Transfers

If Merch Jar, or substantially all of its assets, were acquired, or in the unlikely event that Merch Jar goes out of business or enters bankruptcy, user information would be one of the assets that is transferred or acquired by a third party. You acknowledge that such transfers may occur, and that any acquirer of Merch Jar may continue to use your personal information as set forth in this policy.

Privacy Policy Changes

Although most changes are likely to be minor, Merch Jar may change its Privacy Policy from time to time, and in Merch Jar’s sole discretion. Merch Jar encourages visitors to frequently check this page for any changes to its Privacy Policy.
